Firefighters Rescue 2 Pitbulls From House Fire

(CBS) Firefighters rescued a pair of pitbulls from a house fire in unincorporated South Whittier, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 8:13 p.m. on the 10000 block of Victoria Avenue was reported at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the house, a county fire battalion chief told reporters at the scene.

Firefighters crews found a 3-month old puppy and a full-grown dog inside that were unconscious.

Rescuers carried outside the animals outsides and administered oxygen therapy to both.

The blaze was put out after 8:30 p.m. a Los Angeles County Fire dispatch supervisor said.

No people were hurt.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
