Now that we have stressed the importance of exercising your pitbull to not only build good muscle tone, but over all it is what pitbulls like to do and they need it. Pitbulls are a working dog and they love to work. Most pitbull owners that train, work, or give there pitbulls exercise, know that this breed loves to please. Most of the time you will get tired before they do and their the ones that are actively in motion.
I would like to introduce to you the Flirt Pole:

Q -What is the Flirt Pole?
A - The Flirt Pole is a dog conditioning tool originally used to train for speed, building great stamina and toning the muscular structure of your pitbull.
You don’t need to go out and buy a flirt pole. You can build them yourself.
Here is what you will need:
- You’ll need a “longe” whip from the local farm or hardware store. Or you can use flexible cord or cable (Note: Containing no metal or copper wire.)
- A piece of durable rabbit skin, burlap, or even a piece of an old beat up teddy bear as bait.
Tie your “bait” to the end of the whip.
How to use the Flirt Pole:
The point of the flirt pole is to exercise you dogs body, eye and mouth coordination.
Let your pitbull chase the bait, don’t fling the object directly at the dog, fling the object away from them and let them chase it. Let it get close to the mouth and whip it up and away, (sort of like your casting a fishing rod.)
Let it hit the ground and whip the bait to the left or right driving your pitbulls instinct to chase. Or you can keep the bait in the air, causing your pitbull to jump for the item.
If your dog catches the bait, dont try to pull up on the pole (it will break), instead point the pole to your dog until they let the bait go. Then go at it again.
Don’t let the routine go on for too long, you want to leave your dog wanting more. 5-10 minutes is long enough to give a good work out with the flirt pole, and leave your pitbull wanting more action.
The flirt pole is a good way to ensure your pitbull gets the proper daily exercise need with minimal effort on your end. Just like the Spring Pole , this is another way for responsible pitbull owners short on time to care for your pitbulls daily needs, and exercise is a daily need for the pitbull breed.

I had a great pitbull in New Zealand, but was unable to bring it to Austrlia due to the dangerous dog laws here. If owners train and play with their dogs on a regular basis the dogs will have fun, stay fit and obey their master. Good on you for showing this idea.
