Are Pitbulls Dangerous to children?

We all know that something comes to mind whenever “pit bull” is mentioned. More often than not, that something is negative. A large part of the reason why so many of us have negative thoughts about pit bulls despite never having had a bad experience due to one is because of the media. This is why many of us tend to think of pit bulls as particularly aggressive dogs which has actually fueled a drive in some parts of the country to ban the breed altogether. Read more

Pitbulls and Kids

Pitbulls are very loyal dogs, and can be trusted around children. Of course I don’t think that any person in their right mind would allow a strange dog rather it is a pitbull or a poodle, around there children unless the child was familiar with the dog and the parent knew of the dogs temperament.  Safety first regardless what type of dog it is.

Legislator Drops Pit Bull Ban

A proposal to ban pit bulls in Oregon will not be formally introduced this year, according to the spokeswoman for a Republican state senator. The news of the Oregon legislator dropping the pit bull ban was a victory for fans of the maligned breed, but owners already have another fight on their hands. A new proposal, House Bill 2852, would require pit bull owners to buy liability insurance. Legislators have proposed the bills after a number of recent pit bull attacks. However, the bills led some pit bull owners to claim they’re being targeted unfairly because of irresponsible dog owners. In the United States, many cities and counties — from San Francisco to Sioux City — have already passed pit bull bans. Many Oregonians said pit bulls are too risky to people and other pets. Pitbull Fighting

Pitbull Fighting History

Pitbull fighting currently only happens with few owners nowadays. Other incompetent owners also do their part in promoting the pitbull’s bad reputation. In fact, Pitbull dogs are one of the most intelligent breeds plus they have proven loyalty and significant strength. They make an aggressive and active spirit. Sadly, they are portrayed as aggressively mean, which is the complete opposite of reality and a select byproduct of a poor owner. There is more to their personality and unique temperament than this.

Dating back to the times when the Greeks ruled the known world, the Molossi tribe is believed to have bred Pitbull dogs (appearance of early breed differs on what we know today). Thus, the official term Canus Molossi. Read more

Pitbull BSL, very unconstitutional

Hello Guys. I would like to share with you a post by Alex Spicer, a good fella that had to deal with BSL in his community.

Let me first begin by quickly explaining what (BSL) breed-specific legislation is. It is a type of law that focuses on restricting or even eliminating certain breeds of dogs. The most controversial type of BSL completely bans all dogs within a certain breed. This means that all dogs that fall within the legal definition of the ban must be removed from the area or face being euthanized. Other types of less drastic BSL might include: banning new dogs of the breed from coming into the area, placing heavy restrictions and financial burdens on owners of a breed, requiring breeds to be mandatory spayed and neutered, requiring breeds to be muzzled in public, and so on and so on…Below are ten reason why BSL is wrong: Read more

Pitbull Law / Did you Know?

Did you know:

  • If you travel with your Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix through a city that bans the breed, your dog might be confiscated and killed?

  • If there is a Pit Bull in your household, you may find your homeowner’s insurance cancelled, or you may have difficulty finding homeowner’s insurance?

  • Ownership of treadmills, books on the history of the breed, and canine nutritional supplements have often been used as “evidence” in criminal dog-fighting cases?

Help us put an end to such unjust policies by fighting breed specific legislation and promoting a positive, accurate image of Pit Bulls.

Stop the pitbull ban! / Pitbull owners are the fault.

Pit bulls are often trained to be aggressive and have been involved in many recent attacks. As a result, about 230 cities in 32 states have pit bull legislation either passed or proposed.

When has any dog that can be trained suffer punishment.  Last time I checked, all dogs are able to be trained. So this means of you can train a pitbull to be aggressive, you can train a poodle, beagle, or an Irish WolfHould to be aggressive as well. Just imagine an Irish Wolfhound after you rather than a pitbull, which bite would you rather have? Read more
