Pitbulls and Children

Pitbulls are very loyal dogs, and can be trusted around children. Of course I don’t think that any person in their right mind would allow a strange dog rather it is a pitbull or a poodle, around there children unless the child was familiar with the dog and the parent knew of the dogs temperament. Safety first regardless what type of dog it is.

It really touches my heart to think that some states and countries are putting bans on pitbulls. These dogs are family members for Pete’s sake!!! People like us as pitbull lovers and owners know that the only reason that pitbulls have such a bad reputation, is because to the senseless, heartless owners that train these dogs to do horrible things. Dogs will do as they are trained!
For example, lets look at the German Shepherd. Here in the US this breed of dog is used by the police force to sniff out drugs, and attack humans if needed. And boy do they do a good job at it. It is used for legal reasons, but here I am trying to show an example how dogs will do as they are trained.

As the old pitbull activist saying goes, Punish the deed not the breed! Punish the owners that train their dogs to be aggressive to other dogs or humans. I can understand if you use your dog to protect your house and or your land. It is the reason why 80% of people own a dog. But if your aggressive dog is totally in the wrong by running the neighborhood stirring up a fuss, and causing harm to other pets or humans, you as the owner of that dog should suffer the consequences.
I mind you guys, dogs don’t have to be “Pitbulls” to be aggressive and bite others, many children get mawled by dogs everyday in the U.S. but only the bites that occured by the “pitbull” make the news! Very sad but true. Pitbulls are dogs just like the rest of them, stop the discrimination against our breed, the American Pitbull Terrier.

I totally agree! I have two pitbulls, Zeek and Nala, and both are wonderful members of our family. My husband and I will be welcoming a baby girl in four weeks and are confident she will no doubt be loved and protected by both of them!
